Sheepmeat, goatmeat, sheep offal, goat offal: export to Japan

Starting from June 29th, 2020, the import from Italy to Japan of sheepmeat, goatmeat, sheep offal, goat offal, including meat cut in small pieces (skewers, the so called “arrosticini) to be exported to Japan from Italy has been made possible thank to the recent agreement between the Health Authorities of the two Country.

Given the pre-listing procedure already in place for exports of meat and meat product from pig and bovine, in order to access the customs procedures it is first required that the Italian Ministry of Health communicate to the Japanese counterpart a list of authorized establishments, which will be published on the dedicated page of the Japanese Animal Quarantine (https://www.maff.go.jp/aqs/tetuzuki/facility/seijo-building.html).

Interested Japanese importers should make sure that the Italian exporting establishments apply to the Italian ministry of health to obtain the authorization for export.
