Special guest from Japan
Masahiro Kasahara
Sanpi-Ryoron (Tokyo), owner
Born in Tokyo in 1972, he grew up looking at his parents who run a yakitori restaurant. After graduating from high school, he trained at “Shougatu-ya Kitcho” for nine years before taking over his family's yakitori restaurant. On the 30th anniversary the restaurant has been temporary closed and in 2004 Kasahara opened his own "Sanpi-Ryoron" in Ebisu. The name of the restaurant is based on the idea that "you don't have to be liked by everyone. It is ok if only the ones who like your food and method comes to visit [...]". It quickly became a very popular restaurant, even hard to make a reservation.

Theme 2020 – Insieme
Uncertainty has prevailed in many aspects of our daily life forcing us to stand afar from each other and respect a social physical distance. But emotionally this experience has worked the other way around, giving us the chance to re-evaluate the importance of “the other” and the meaning of togetherness. Together we can make it - and it’s way more fun.
