ICCJ is organizing online B2B meetings with the Italian company Monteverdi Srl, to introduce its leather production to the Japanese market.

One of the oldest tanneries in Firenze, Monteverdi is looking for new partners/importers in Japan for its vegetable-tanned products, which have an ancient tradition and achieved their ultimate expression in Tuscany. Tannin is the maker of vegetable-tanned processing, which activates substances that turn the animal skin into a compact and resistant material. It also gives the leather its unique “typical scent,” able to provide a natural texture to the final product.
The company ensures a complete production cycle for all its creations, starting with raw skin salting up to the various finished products of vegetable-tanned processing.
Sustainability and degradability are also pivotal for the company: together with Università di Firenze and “PO.TE.CO” – the Technological Hub of Santa Croce sull’Arno, Monteverdi has set out the characteristics of sustainability and respect for the environment for its complete vegetable-tanned cycle.
