“2channel” (2ちゃんねる ni channeru or 2ch) is the most popular Japanese textboard where users can exchange their opinion on everything. It was launched in 1999, before any other SNS was developed. Its founder, Hiroyuki, also created “Niconico Video” and other platforms which eventually led to a social phenomenon.
ICCJ is happy to invite Hiroyuki for a Q&A session on February 2. Participants will be able to ask him directly about 2ch and the influence this textboard had on the Japanese society. A glass of Italian wine will be also served during the talk.

Hiroyuki Nishimura is the founder of “2channel” and “Niconico Video”. He is one of the most famous web entrepreneurs in Japan. He is also the owner and admin of 4chan, an English-language imageboard website split into various boards with their own specific content and guidelines. On the Internet, he is usually known by his given name, hiroyuki.
